In 2023, a total of 239 enterprises specializing in the comprehensive utilization of recycled resources such as waste steel, waste paper, and waste power batteries from new energy vehicles were selected. Throughout the year, the comprehensive utilization of waste power batteries from new energy vehicles amounted to 225,000 tons, essentially achieving the goal of collecting and utilizing all available waste batteries.

On January 18th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Education jointly held a launch meeting in Beijing for the integration of industry and education through the application of university scientific and technological achievements to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

On November 13, 2023, the fifth China-Central and Eastern European Countries (Cangzhou) Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Cooperation Forum opened in Cangzhou City, Hebei Province. Xu Xiaolan, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Sinisa Mali and Polish Mazovia Province Governor Adam Struzik attended and spoke via video link, while the Ambassadors of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Georgia to China, Sinisa Berjan and Archil Kalandia, were present on site.

From November 9 to 11, 2023, the 12th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Small and Medium Enterprises Technology Exchange and Exhibition, referred to as the APEC Technology Exhibition, was held in Qingdao City, Shandong Province. Xu Xiaolan, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attended the opening ceremony and the main forum and delivered a speech.

On November 5, 2023, the sixth China International Import Expo opened in Shanghai, featuring a series of events organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Minister of Industry and Information Technology Jin Zhuanglong attended the opening ceremony, with Vice Minister Xin Guobin and Chief Economist Gao Dongsheng participating in related activities.

On October 18, 2023, Jin Zhuanglong, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, participated in the third Belt and Road International Cooperation High-Level Forum on Connectivity and spoke during the thematic discussion session.
