On November 5, 2023, the sixth China International Import Expo opened in Shanghai, featuring a series of events organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Minister of Industry and Information Technology Jin Zhuanglong attended the opening ceremony, with Vice Minister Xin Guobin and Chief Economist Gao Dongsheng participating in related activities.
Global intelligent technology is rapidly evolving and deeply integrating with future industries, empowering new industrialization in all aspects and at a profound level. At the Hongqiao International Economic Forum’s sub-forum on “Intelligent Technology and Future Industrial Development,” co-hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Commerce, Xin Guobin stated that, with joint efforts, China’s intelligent technology has flourished. Core technologies have continuously broken through, digital infrastructure has rapidly expanded, and integration applications have continued to grow, revealing immense potential for future industries. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will follow the deployment requirements of the national conference on new industrialization, relying on mechanisms like the “Belt and Road.” It will join forces with various parties to continuously advance key core technology breakthroughs, promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, strengthen security and governance, drive the development of intelligent technology and future industries, accelerate the formation of new productive forces, and powerfully enable new industrialization. Renowned domestic and international experts, scholars, and business leaders engaged in dialogue and exchange on cutting-edge technologies in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, brain-like technology, and industrial big models.
At the “International Forum on the Rule of Law Safeguarding High-Quality and Sustainable Development of the Manufacturing Industry,” hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Xin Guobin emphasized that to advance new industrialization in the new era and on the new journey, and to accelerate the building of a strong manufacturing and cyber nation, greater emphasis must be placed on the rule of law. It is necessary to establish and improve a comprehensive, scientific, standardized, and effective legal and regulatory system for industry and information technology, and continuously improve the quality and efficiency of legislation. The role of enterprises as the main body should be played, exploring the construction of a compliance and regulatory standard system oriented to the manufacturing industry, and improving the level of enterprise compliance management. Efforts should also be made to optimize the business environment, systematically promote functional transformation and the construction of the rule of law, creating a market-oriented, legalized, internationalized top-tier business environment and a strong atmosphere that encourages entrepreneurs to engage in business and innovation.
As a supporting event of this year’s China International Import Expo, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will also host the “China Automotive Industry Development Forum.”
